At Sever Film Rentals, we are more than just a gear rental service. As a full-scale Production Company and Creative Studio based in Charlotte, NC, our team brings years of hands-on industry experience to every project. We offer a wide range of gear to suit any production, from industry-standard filmmaking essentials to specialized photography tools. Our goal is to provide the equipment needed to tackle any creative vision. With our real-world production experience, we’ve intentionally crafted kits ready for any shoot. The Process

To start your rental, simply add your desired items to your rental list, choose your rental dates, and submit your request. We’ll reach out promptly to confirm gear availability. Upon confirmation, you will be asked to sign the rental agreement, provide your Certificate of Insurance (COI) and forms of ID, and complete your payment.

If you can’t find an item you need in our inventory, let us know!

Renting Requirements

To rent from Sever Film Rentals, you will need:
- A signed rental agreement
- Two forms of identification, including one photo ID
- A valid Certificate of Insurance (COI)
- Full payment before pickup

Insurance Requirements

Your COI must include:

- Sever Film Rentals listed as the Certificate Holder, Loss Payee, and Additional Insured
- Coverage for at least the replacement value of the equipment
- No exclusions for theft from an unattended vehicle

Rental Pricing

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) count as one rental day.
A 7-day rental is billed as three rental days.
Contact us for monthly or long-term rental rates.

Pick Up / Return

Pickups and returns are by appointment only, generally between 9am and 7pm, Sunday through Saturday. To avoid additional day rates, pickups should be after 3pm and returns before 12pm unless otherwise agreed upon.

Prep

We want to ensure our clients are fully prepared and comfortable with their rented gear. When you come in, you’ll have the opportunity to:

- Thoroughly check your equipment with the guidance of our experienced technicians.
- Test all functions to ensure everything is working correctly.
- Get answers to any questions you might have about the gear.

Just let us know ahead of time if you’d like to schedule a prep session so we can have everything ready for you.

Training

We offer comprehensive training sessions to ensure you are comfortable and confident using our equipment. Contact us to schedule these sessions.

Damage/Loss

If equipment is damaged or lost during your rental, notify us immediately. Upon return, we'll assess the damage and guide you on the next steps. You are liable for the cost of repair or replacement for any damaged, lost, or stolen equipment, beyond normal wear and tear. Insurance may cover some or all of these costs.

Inspection Policy

We inspect all items before departure and upon return, typically within 1-3 days for larger returns. A cleaning fee may be charged if equipment is returned after use in harsh conditions. If repairs or replacements are necessary, we’ll provide an estimate. Note your insurance deductible, as you’ll be responsible for costs below this amount.

Late Fees

Any equipment returned after the agreed rental period will incur a late fee of up to 150% of the agreed Rental Fees per day that the equipment is late. To avoid these charges, please ensure timely returns or notify us in advance if you need an extension.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the rental start date to avoid fees. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the rental start date will incur a fee equal to 100% of the terminated Rental Fee. No-shows or cancellations on the day of pickup will be charged the full rental amount.
